The Greenvolt Group reached an agreement to acquire the majority of Enerpower’s capital, with an additional investment for the development of PPAs, in an operation that allows it to reinforce its focus on the Distributed Generation segment of renewable energy in a new market, Ireland.
The purchase of 50.24% of Enerpower and 50.25% of a company dedicated exclusively to PPAs, for a total of €25 million, with the option of increasing participation up to 100%, by 2028, “reinforces not only our strategic commitment to this segment allows us to take another step in our strategy of developing a pan-European platform”, says João Manso Neto.
With a wide range of customers, including PepsiCo, Lidl, Pfizer, or Virgin Media, as well as PPA’s with companies such as Lilly and Tesco, Enerpower “will now have a reinforced capacity to take advantage of the numerous opportunities in Ireland”, adds the CEO of the Greenvolt Group.
Ireland has set the objective of increasing the proportion of energy obtained from renewable sources to 80% by 2030, a target that should be achieved largely through solar energy, which is expected to have an installed capacity of 8 GW by the end of the decade. The Commercial & Industrial sector, where Enerpower operates, is expected to double its power generation capacity through solar panels to almost 1.1 GW, compared to the end of 2022.
