O co<strong>nceito de neutralidade carb\u00f3nica da biomassa<\/strong> (ou seja, que as emiss\u00f5es de CO2 do processo de combust\u00e3o s\u00e3o consideradas nulas) <strong>est\u00e1 na base da sua classifica\u00e7\u00e3o como fonte de energia renov\u00e1vel<\/strong> em v\u00e1rios quadros regulamentares, incluindo a<a href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/topics\/renewable-energy\/renewable-energy-directive-targets-and-rules\/renewable-energy-directive_en\"> Diretiva Europeia das Energias Renov\u00e1veis<\/a> (RED II), que entrou em vigor em julho de 2021.
