GreenVolt – Energias Renováveis, S.A., through Profit Energy, reached the mark of 100 MWp awarded in solar energy self-consumption projects, projects that will be able to generate important savings in the energy bill while helping to decarbonize the Portuguese industry.
There are a total of 160 projects. They are being developed by Profit Energy in practically all districts of Portugal, with Beja (25 MWp), Leiria and Porto (10 MWp), Aveiro (9 MWp) and Castelo Branco (8 MWp) in the spotlight.
The awarded projects involve the installation of more than 185,000 photovoltaic solar panels, occupying an already humanized area of 410,000 square meters, the equivalent of 38 football fields. With the 100 MWp of capacity to be installed, it will be possible to generate 109,650 MWh of cheap but also clean energy, avoiding the emission of around 53,000 tons of CO2 per year.
“While obtaining a quick solution to control high energy costs, companies are preparing for a cleaner future. Decentralized is the right option for company accounts, but also for the important decarbonization of the Portuguese economy”, says João Manso Neto, CEO of GreenVolt.
