Team Management
Angelika Brown
Head of AP & Finance Process Improvement, Greenvolt Power Poland
”Throughout my journey, I’ve received strong support and encouragement, and I’ve come to realize that employee development directly contributes to the company’s success.
How has leading a rapidly growing team challenged you and contributed to your professional growth?
Even though I had previous experience managing big teams, leading a rapidly growing one at Greenvolt quickly redefined my working style.
I had to adapt fast to the dynamic structure of the organisation, learning how to delegate effectively, build trust, and create a space where the team could settle in and work as one. This experience showed me how important it is to build a team environment where people take responsibility and feel ownership for their work.
What new skills or perspectives have you developed as a result of managing or supporting a larger, more dynamic team?
Managing a growing and diverse team let me develop a much deeper communication skill. As the team expanded, I became more intentional about recognizing each member’s unique strengths and talents. Leading a dynamic team has also strengthened my problem-solving skills and enhanced my capacity to view challenges from multiple perspectives.
I also became aware of the powerful impact that effective team collaboration can have across different processes.
How has this experience shaped your view of development opportunities at Greenvolt?
Honestly, I believe Greenvolt truly supports internal growth and encourages those ready to step up. I’ve seen that opportunities appear when you’re proactive, open to feedback, and committed to learning. It is important to align with the company’s values. Throughout my journey, I’ve received strong motivators and support, and I’ve come to realise that employee development directly contributes to the company’s success.
Frederico Neto
Procurement Associate, Greenvolt Corporate
”When I was offered the position to lead my team, I mostly felt that the work I had put into my job was recognized and had impact.
Looking back to when you started as a Junior Analyst at Greenvolt, how did you envision your career path, and how did it feel to be given the opportunity to lead a team?
My main goal was to learn about everything, be able to perform what was needed from me, and gain as much autonomy and know-how as possible. When I was offered position to manage my team, I mostly felt that the work I had put into my job was recognized and had impact. I now aim to be that person that can transmit knowledge and get people to aim towards more responsibility.
What have been the biggest lessons or challenges in transitioning from an individual contributor to a team leader?
It feels a bit unnatural going from doing things to focusing on empowering someone to do it, but it’s definitely rewarding! When it is your first time managing a team and you belong to such a dynamic and never-stopping company, you learn to deal with it and organize your workload.
How has this experience shaped your view of development opportunities at Greenvolt?
As a relatively new and ever-growing company, Greenvolt always has opportunities popping up. We have been opening doors for everyone to specialize in something and to become the person of reference to it. One way or another, if you do solid work, someone’s bound to recognize it.
