Greenvolt Next Italia was presented at KEY The Energy Transition Expo, the European event dedicated to technologies, services, and integrated solutions for energy efficiency and renewable energy in Italy and the Mediterranean region, taking place until March 7 in Rimini.
To actively contribute to the country’s energy transition and the fight against ongoing climate change, the new company will support businesses in achieving their decarbonization goals, reducing electricity costs (up to 40%) and decreasing dependence on the grid through the production, consumption, and management of their own green energy, such as photovoltaic systems installed on warehouse and industrial building rooftops.
Based in Corsico (Milan), Greenvolt Next Italia currently boasts an installed capacity of 150 MW, with over 1,200 projects completed across the country. The company currently has 30 new projects in the pipeline, with a total value of 10 million euros, 7.5 million of which is allocated to the photovoltaic sector and 2.5 million to the renovation of industrial roofs. These initiatives will contribute to an additional 10 MW increase in installed capacity, supported by a growing team, which has increased from 21 employees in 2023 to the current 46, marking a 109% growth.
The company is actively involved in several decentralized renewable energy projects, including a facility at Cimbali’s headquarters in Dolo (VE). Other ongoing initiatives include projects at large industrial and commercial complexes, as well as the development of innovative solutions for self-consumption and the reduction of the carbon footprint for leading companies in their respective sectors.
Greenvolt Next’s expansion in Italy is part of Greenvolt’s broader strategy to increase its investment in distributed generation in Europe, where it already has over 450 MWp of signed capacity and a portfolio of over 2,500 projects across 12 countries.
Greenvolt Next Italia will continue to be led by Mitia Cugusi as president, who, based on his experience in the B2B renewable energy market, co-founded the company 20 years ago along with Andrea Faini, who remains the managing director and strategist of the company.
“The launch of Greenvolt Next Italia represents an important step in the Group’s growth strategy, further consolidating our commitment to this country, where, after entering the market in 2023 with the partial acquisition of Solarelit, we are already active with important projects in the photovoltaic sector and the renovation of industrial roofs. The evolution in a global company such as Greenvolt Next belong to a planned and natural transition and is an integral part of our development project for widespread self-consumption in Europe and supporting businesses in achieving their decarbonization goals”, says João Manso Neto, CEO of Greenvolt Group.
“The initiative presented today is a milestone in our company’s history, as it became part of the Greenvolt Group two years ago. Thanks to the experience gained over the years in Italy and the synergies with the know-how of an international group, we can assure that our essence will be maintained and further integrated into a global structure. We aim to continue expanding in the Italian renewable energy market, offering technologically advanced solutions in line with corporate sustainability principles. Photovoltaic systems with PPA contracts and incentivized widespread self-consumption configurations are typical examples of how we can achieve the goals we have set, considering the great attention that Italy devotes to distributed generation”, adds Mitia Cugusi, President of Greenvolt Next Italia.
